Welcome to Chapter 15! This is where all the foundational HTMX knowledge we’ve been carefully building comes together in a truly exciting way. In this chapter, we’re going to embark on our very first full-fledged project: a Dynamic Todo List Application.

Why a todo list? Because it’s the perfect blend of simplicity and complexity to showcase HTMX’s power. We’ll be creating, listing, updating (marking complete), and deleting items, all without writing a single line of client-side JavaScript for our dynamic interactions! You’ll see firsthand how HTMX allows you to build modern, interactive user interfaces using just HTML, backed by a lightweight server. This project will solidify your understanding of
hx-get
,
hx-post
,
hx-put
,
hx-delete
,
hx-target
,
hx-swap
, and more, giving you the confidence to tackle more complex applications.
